Refuge Community Development Corporation (our 501c3 nonprofit)
Refuge Community Development Corporation (RCDC) was founded on July 21, 1999, by Pastor Raymond J. Keith Jr. of Refuge in Kentucky Church. Recognizing a critical need within the community, Pastor Keith was driven to create an organization dedicated to providing essential resources and programming to underserved populations.
On March 10, 2003, RCDC achieved its 501(c)(3) status, marking a significant milestone in its mission to serve the community. This status enabled RCDC to forge a powerful partnership with Wayside Christian Mission, allowing the organization to expand its reach and offerings. Together, they have provided food, clothing, life skills, financial literacy education, and the Kids Café program, among other vital services.
Over the years, RCDC has continued to grow, thanks to collaborations with esteemed partners such as Dare to Care, TARC, New Directions, The Lord's Supper, and The Healing Place. These partnerships have empowered RCDC to deliver comprehensive support and services to the community, enhancing the quality of life for countless individuals and families.
For 26 years, RCDC has been a steadfast beacon of hope and support, committed to uplifting the community and ensuring that all members have access to the resources they need to thrive.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Refuge Community Development Corporation (RCDC) is to strengthen communities and grow families in Louisville, particularly in our underserved neighborhoods. RCDC will do this by offering safe and affordable housing opportunities, adminstering community programs to support the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs to families, and by leasing space for neighborhood business to operate and flourish.
